Electrical Engineer – Data Center

Position Summary
Lynk Engineers is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Data Center to support the planning, design, and coordination of electrical systems for mission critical and data center facilities. This role will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop reliable, resilient, and energy-efficient electrical infrastructure solutions that support complex operational requirements and uptime expectations.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, detail-oriented, and experienced in designing electrical systems for critical environments including data centers, technology facilities, and other high-performance buildings.
Essential Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for data center and mission critical facilities, including:
Power distribution systems
UPS systems
Generators
Switchgear
PDUs and RPPs
Grounding and bonding systems
Lighting and lighting controls
Emergency power systems
Prepare engineering calculations, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, and construction documents
Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, architectural, technology, and commissioning teams
Support short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load calculations
Participate in design meetings, client coordination meetings, and project reviews
Review submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and contractor questions during construction
Assist with field investigations, site visits, punch walks, and commissioning activities
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverable deadlines
Mentor junior engineers and designers, as applicable
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure
4+ years of electrical engineering experience preferred
Experience with mission critical, data center, or large commercial electrical systems preferred
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD preferred
Familiarity with SKM, ETAP, or other electrical analysis software preferred
Understanding of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable energy codes
Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
Data center or colocation facility design
Tier classification and redundancy concepts
Utility coordination and power studies
Arc flash and coordination studies
Generator paralleling systems
Mission critical commissioning processes
BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project delivery
Sustainable and energy-efficient design practices
